Blogger Contest: Which Place or Moment During Your Travels Made You Smile the Brightest

Maybe it’s a beautiful sunset, with the fine sand trickling through your toes and the taste of coconut water on your tongue. Maybe it’s an amazing skyline at night, with skyscrapers so luminous and stunning that you can’t take your eyes off them. Maybe it’s the grimace your best friend makes because you tried the supposedly countries’ specialty but it doesn’t taste special at all. Whatever it is, everyone has their own memory of that beautiful, absolutely perfect moment of THAT trip, which we hold on to after returning not only to everyday life, but also cold coffee and long hours in the office. You close your eyes, you start daydreaming and suddenly you smile because you see…well, what?

We’re inviting bloggers to tell us about their #brightestsmile story for the chance to win an Experience Days gift voucher worth £200 / Experience Days gift voucher worth $240! We want to see what makes you smile! We want to know everything about the personal story behind it and why this very special moment/thing/location still makes you smile, even though you’re no longer at that place.

What do you need to do?

Write a blog post about the one thing that is guaranteed to make you smile and publish it on your own blog. Feel free to get creative but you must mention that you’re taking part in the #brightestsmile blogger competition.
Once your post is live e-mail us at contest@junomedical.com and don't forget to join the #brightestsmile conversation on social media!

The competition closes at midnight on the 22nd of December 2016. Comments will be activated within 24 hours after sending. One winner will be chosen by a panel of Junomedical judges. The winner will be announced on the 27th of December 2016 and contacted by email.

To get you in the mood, we asked one of our Junomedical team members to share her personal story on what made her smile the brightest.

When I think of smiling, my memories take me back to Japan, where I travelled last March for 3 weeks. Everything in Japan was magic, from cherry tree flowers gently falling down the ground to wide scenic landscapes that speak of history and majesty; though nothing would have made my trip there as special as the people I met there. I stayed in a family-run ryokan in Osaka and everyone there was amazingly nice and welcoming throughout my stay. They cooked Shabu Shabu at their place - a Japanese specialty where raw meat is stewed for a few seconds into boiling broth - showed me around Yodogawa to live the real local life and even took me back to the station at 6AM to catch my train for Hiroshima. Right there, on my way to the gate, all of them were standing there, just before the turnstiles, giving me presents and wishing me good luck; and when I turned back for the last time, they were waving slowly at me with their arms up and an irrepressible smile on their gentle faces. They made sure that was the last image I would see of them. Then their faces disappeared amidst thousands of people running different ways. And even if with a hint of melancholy, that was my #brightestsmile and the first memory I always go back to when I think of Japan.

Feel inspired? Then go ahead and tell us your story!
